Our staff and care
As a smaller home, we pride ourselves on being able to treat all residents as individuals and provide you with as much care and support as you may ask for. Our care staff are extremely experienced and highly qualified. Many have also been with us for many years, which ensures a positive, happy working environment and continuity of care for our residents.
Through our approach to care, we aim to develop a genuinely unique care service that reflects your personal situation. As such, we view your involvement and that of your family as critical and actively support a collaborative approach to care planning and decision-making.
We also recognise the importance of your social well-being and upon joining us a named key-carer will be assigned to you from our care staff. They will have one-to-ones with you frequently and they are someone you can trust and with whom you can share any concerns – big or small. We also operate a chaperone service when you first join, to ensure that there is always a carer on duty who you can call upon by name, as you get to know us.
Activities
We organise a range of regular activities including: news reviews, music afternoons, quizzes, ‘pamper-days’, reminiscence sessions, armchair exercises, visits from local schoolchildren, film afternoons and coffee mornings/afternoons - all ideal for keeping active, social and getting to know your fellow residents. We have a selection of puzzles, cards, magazines and board games. Delivery of newspapers and magazines can also be arranged.
We also encourage trips out and about and arrange monthly group trips to local sites for coffee, sightseeing or shopping. For those wishing to go out in smaller groups, taxis can be arranged whenever a resident chooses.
